Employee Voice 2

Kiyoshi Fujie
Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator / Quality Assurance Department

Q. What does a plastic injection molding machine operator do?

This job involves producing a wide range of products by injecting melted plastic resin into molds. It’s not just about operating machines; it’s crucial to set the optimal molding conditions for each product and maintain consistent quality. Even small variations in appearance or dimensions can occur, so the role also requires making fine adjustments repeatedly to improve quality. As you gain experience, you become more directly involved in creating better products, and I find it to be a technically deep and rewarding job.

Q. What made you choose this job?

I originally wanted to work in a factory, which led me to choose this profession. At first, I was focused on learning how to operate the machines and understand the workflow. However, as I continued working, I began to appreciate the complexity and depth of the molding process, and gradually found it more interesting. What especially appeals to me is how even small changes in conditions can affect the final product. The sense of accomplishment I get when my adjustments improve quality has drawn me deeper into this work.

Q. How is the working environment?

While some older machines and tools are still in use, they are being systematically updated and improved. There are also ongoing efforts to enhance safety and work efficiency, and I feel that the company provides a well-maintained and secure working environment.

Q. What is rewarding about this job?

One of the most interesting aspects of this job is that even the same product can turn out quite differently depending on seasonal changes or material differences. Through trial and error, when I’m able to create a stable process that consistently produces high-quality products, I feel a strong sense of achievement and fulfillment. I believe the appeal of this job lies in how directly my skills and experience are reflected in the quality of the final product.
